It is very nice to have a stylist that is consistenly at the same place and makes a point of being available whenever I need her. Almost 10 years ago, I needed an "emergency hair cut." I already had a good hair STYLE because I didn't speak French well enough to clear up a communication snafu. The prior cut had grown WAY out again and it was looking really bad. Getting it cut well after each grow-out had been a big challenge. A series of low, medium, and even some high priced stylists I tried out weren't getting the job done. (Only a couple got it looking decent to start with, but it still grew out weird...) I had an inkling how much difference a talented, experienced hair stylist can make time and again just by REALLY knowing hair and understanding the importance of tailoring the use of the cutting/shaving tools so you're working WITH someone's hair instead of against it. .

Fine Cuts was closest to my office and with no additional knowledge, I walked in and made my request. Someone was available, and boy did I end up with a GREAT haircut at the start which also grew out BEAUTIFULLY. I looked FINE until I could get the next cut. .

I'm happy FINE CUTS is all about HAIR. It is all about attracting stylists who deliver high quality hair cuts in a low-key setting. Gotta admit, I love sitting in a real barber chair for my haircuts. The costs of a hair cut or other hair services at FINE CUTS are an excellent value with no "Downtown bump" due to its prime location. You can easily spend the same or MORE for stylists who are not even near the calibre of a stylist allowed to work at FINE CUTS. .

Over the years, people have attempted to lure me away with gift certificates, but I can't ever match the great cut I get from Selina. She listens to what you want and offers her suggestions. In about 1974 I receive an "Invitation" in the mail to have my hair cut at a new salon called Wilde Oscars opened by renowned stylist Harry Pohlman. I was 16 and didn't get invited to much so I had to accept.
When I went to my first appointment, the Dali Lama was sitting in the small lounge area flipping through Playboy and telling jokes while Harry finished up on Pope Paul. Pretty impressive. It didn't occur to me that these guys didn't have very demanding hair care needs.

"Harry, I have a huge deal pending. Please give me a Big Deal haircut".
"Harry, I'm getting' my head handed to me, give me the confidence restoring haircut".

When Harry caught hizself a case of Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma and lived in a bubble for a year, everywhere in the world I went to a church, dropped a large denomination in the box, and said a prayer for his wellbeing. Pope John Paul (who came to Harry early in his pontificate) claims Harry's cure as one of his Sainthood qualifying miracles.
You see, going to Harry is not about a hair cut, it's about your choice to enrich life. My son goes to Harry. Kim styles the hair of the Beautiful Woman who was captivated by my haircut, ("You look Just like Pierce Brosnan!", "Oh, realllly?")
It's not quite like the old days. Senators Obama and McCain came in together before the election (obviously they don't have big hair care needs either). The Dali Lama has graduated to a "personal stylist".

Scheduling on line is a great feature; I like knowing I am able to make an appointment within a day or two, not having to wait several weeks as is the case in many salons. Sometimes "having" to get your hair cut is nuisance - Fine Cuts makes it easy. You can depend on them; they are on time; "no fuss no muss" and the cut is excellent. My haircut can last 5 weeks or 5 months; the job is so well done the grow out is easy - which is a great benefit for those who travel and cannot always make an appointment regularly. Both my wife and I get our hair cut at Fine Cuts, and we have now for almost 20 years. We have tried other barber shops and salons, mostly when out of town, but we always come back to Fine Cuts for a couple of key reasons: they all know us there and make us feel incredibly welcome, and we always leave with a great haircut, and feel good about ourselves afterward. These are friends of ours now, and we tip them generously when done, for the price doesn't cover the great experience we have there. It is worth every penny!
